I’m Mr. Muller and I teach music at Tomiyasu Elementary School. I have been teaching here for eight years and fifteen years in CCSD. I was born in San Diego, CA and attended USC to get my bachelor’s degree. I have a passion for music and feel very grateful to be able to teach something that I love so much. Music is a universal language and it is my favorite form of art.
Your child will have music once a week. We will be working on developing a variety of skills throughout the year, and then we’ll use those skills during each musical adventure we embark upon. I encourage and value risk taking and creative exploration over technical mastery. While technique is important, the purpose of my music class is to allow students to be creative and discover for themselves the beauty and wonder of music and how it relates to and impacts culture and life outside the classroom. After all, music is supposed to be fun! I not only allow, but encourage mistakes and teach the students that mistakes are not something to be ashamed of but rather they are proof that you are learning. Music is an art that encourages and values growth based on personal goals rather than fixed group expectations and allows each student to feel confident in their skill level while they see their own personal growth throughout the year. With this philosophy in mind, I also have very high expectations and provide a rigorous and demanding music curriculum that is based on Nevada State Music Standards. I expect every student to do their very best in my classroom. |

Hi Dragons! My name is Mrs. Rachet and I teach K-5th grade PE. I grew up in Flagstaff, AZ and attended Northern Arizona University. I have been teaching PE for 6 years now, four of those years I have worked in Clark County School and one of those years I have taught at Tomiyasu. What I like most about teaching (PE) is being able to teach students the importance of physical activity and showing them that they can be successful. In my spare time, I love going on new adventures with my family, trying new foods, and exploring new places.
It is my job to educate kids on the importance of exercising and leading a healthy life through the means of showing them and teaching them a wide range of physical activities and all the things they can do to keep their heart and body healthy. |
I’d like to begin by introducing myself. I am Mrs. Gagliano (the second “g” is silent). I earned a Master’s Degree in Teaching from Bellarmine University in Louisville, KY and earned my Bachelor's Degree from the UCLA. This is my nineteenth year of teaching. I have taught second, third, fourth, fifth, and sixth grades. Teaching is a passion of mine and I have spent summers working for both The Kentucky Department of Education in a teacher writing program and The California Department of Education as a state reviewer for new teaching materials. I also served my former district as part of the district writing cadre and represented my school as a Language Arts Lead for several years. Another passion of mine is the visual arts and I especially love painting!
I am married to an engineer and we have two children. My daughter is a junior at LVA this year and my son is starting the eighth grade. They bring such joy to our lives and keep us busy! We've called Nevada home now since the summer of 2015, relocating from Santa Clara, California to be closer to family. |
